When Sharon’s baby was still born, her life was changed forever. As if this wasn’t traumatic enough, she soon realised that it was almost impossible to share her grief with others. It was uncomfortable for friends and family to talk about her loss and to understand her pain. It was almost a taboo subject. With this book, Sharon hopes to ‘break the silence’ and mend how society responds to bereavement and the accompanying mental health issues, as she demonstrates how she began to live her new normal.
Have you experienced a traumatic loss and found it almost
impossible to live life again?
When Sharon’s baby was stillborn, what had promised to be a new
chapter in her life, with a new baby to care for, was suddenly snatched
away in an instant. With her plans for the future shattered and her life
now changed forever, she found that this would not be the end of her
grief and that even more challenging days lay ahead.
Unable to share her grief with others and difficult for family and friends
to understand her loss, she spiraled into a well of despair that she
thought she would never emerge from.
But when God answered her prayers and helped her find a path through
the darkest days of her life, she began to understand that she was not
alone when it came to bereavement and the accompanying mental health
issues that are often associated with it.
In her book, Angel Warrior: Life after Loss, she hopes that she can
provide some comfort to those who are suffering as she once did and to
change the way we have been conditioned to respond to tragedy.
